About Our Chapels Services
Our Chapel Service is held at the end of the morning class session, and before lunch. The morning class should end by 11:25 a.m. allowing students time to assemble and begin Chapel Service at 11:30 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon.
We allot one hour for lunch, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
It is the responsibility of the Student Body President to conduct Chapel Service in a timely manner. The speaker for Chapel Service must be respectful and watchful of time as well. Our Chapel Service is not a worship service, but an opportunityfor the student body to come together in a brief business and brief worship experience, before lunch. The key word is brevity for chapel, with all things done "decently and in order." The Student Body President presides over all Chapel Services. In the President's absence, the Vice President will preside and perfors all duties. Chapel should be conducted at all time with the utilization of Robert's Rules of Order. Any business conducted should adhere to Robert's Rules of Order. The Dean and Faculty Advisors are a resource for the President and student body to call upon during Chapel. One of the priviliges given to the senior class is the opportunity to utilize their four years of study by bringing a brief sermonette during the Chapel Services. The speaker bringing forth the message may identify another student to open their message in prayer, select a soloist or someone to read the scriptural text if they chose. The speaker closes Chapel Service with a benediction and the blessing of lunch. The President will ask each senior to deliver a message at each Chapel Service. All seniors are required to prepare and deliver a "sermonette" as part of their graduation requirement. Please submit their names to the Student Bodt Secretary, who will then prepare a schedule for distribution along with the minutes of the last Chapel Service.
